ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hello, my name is Kaiwin and I love stories! Some of my oldest, happiest memories include bedtime stories from my parents. Mum would read to me, or dad would tell new episodes of his endless, imaginary stories. And from around that time, I collected ideas in a writing pad, with plans to write my own stories one day…
Over the years, my collection of ideas grew. So many ideas, but no stories. Even after university, with a major in philosophy, working in the army, and then about 15 years of professional photography work, it took long and excited talks with my children before I began to write my ideas into stories…
And now, as my collection of stories grow, all the happiness that stories have given me is what I want to give to you.
WHY STORIES?
Think back to your first years of school. How much time has passed? Years? Decades? And after all that time, what do you still remember?
I began school almost 40 years ago. 40 years! I can barely remember my first teachers or my fellow class mates. Even when I try my best, most of it is fuzzy. But do you know what I clearly remember? The stories. And if you love stories too, I’m guessing you can relate.
We treasure good stories. They can be intangible, but they still touch us. They can be imaginary, but still affect us physically. They can excite us, move us and teach us.
Yes, stories are among the most effective of all teaching methods. That’s because good stories stay with us. And often, whatever is attached to a good story stays with us too.
WHY MY STORIES?
Some stories are warm. Some stories are wild. Some are educational, or fun, or beautifully illustrated. I enjoy publishing books that are all of the above! So if you’re a teacher, you’ll be able to use each of my books in your curriculum in a way that engages early readers beyond the academic material. Long after your lessons end, your students will remember the warm message of each wild story.
My stories offer deep bonding experiences for parents and children who read together. Each of my stories are structured to include enough depth to engage both children and parents. So when you read with your child, you will both share the joy of finding carefully placed details that create stories with meaningful closure.
